Air jet attrition measurements at hot conditions of oxygen carriers for chemical looping combustion

The attrition behaviour of several promising oxygen carriers tested in Chemical Looping Combustion (CLC) units has been evaluated using an air-jet apparatus based on ASTM D5757 at 20 and 800 °C. Results were to determine a general testing procedure that allows estimating the adequacy working temperature potential carrier. For both fresh used carriers, was lower when Air Jet Index (AJI) test increased.
